I was recently invited back to the University of Illinois-Chicago, where I earned my graduate degree, to critique Mid-term presentations for Juniors in the User Centered Design course within the College of Design.
As more time passes since my undergraduate and graduate graduations, I increasingly value staying connected with current students and universities. Student creativity constantly amazes me, often prompting me to think differently and opening my eyes to new perspectives. Not to mention, seeing the "tools of the trade" that have come and gone, and what's new within the space (did someone say A.I?!)
The university experience is unparalleled compared to our professional lives—a relatively unstructured, liberating yet challenging, ongoing exploration of ideas and thoughts. It's a luxury often unrecognized while immersed in it. Knowing how pivotal and formative this period of life was for me, it's rewarding to witness others navigate their way through it.
Kudos to the Junior class for their hard work and presentations on "Health in the Home", and thanks to Prof. TJ O'Keefe for the invitation!
